Music to my ears. A CD Holder Tutorial.

I wanted to show you the CD holder I have on the craft table at the moment. This was a class project last week. I am giving mine to hubby for Father's Day with the CD from the movie "The Sapphires" that we saw a couple of weeks ago. This would make a great easy card as well.

And here is the CD inside.
Would you like to make one too?
You will need:
Black Cardstock 17.5cm x 26cm (this is for the CD holder.)
White cardstock 15.5cm x 12.5cm (this is for the card front)
Black Cardstock 8cm x 14.5cm (card front)
7 pieces of black cardstock cut 1cm x 3.5cm for the piano keys
1 strip of red cardstock 1cm x 14.5cm for front
For the music note: 1 small oval (white), 1 thin strip of white card 5cm and 1 piece of card 1cm x 2cm cut on diagonal as shown.

For the purpose of being able to show you more clearly the score lines etc. I will use white cardstock in the first few photo.

1.  Score across 17.5cm side at  1cm, 2cm, 16.5cm
Then score across 26cm section at 12.5cm and 13.5cm.

2. Now measure down 5cm from first centre scoreline as shown and cut on a diagonal across to other score line. Make sure you have your cardstock with the two score lines that are together on the left hand side and the single score line running down on the right hand side.

3. Here is the CD holder as it should look in black cardstock. Cut the two centre lines as shown to the score line.
On the left hand side cut off the first little square .

5. Put your tape on the diagonal cut side as shown. This diagonal piece will be the front.  Bring up this piece towards your back and wrap your front taped sides around it. Ta Da!  Now you have your CD holder.
To make the card front use the 15.5cm x 12.5cm piece of white cardstock. Score at 1cm on the left hand side. This will be glued to the left hand side of your CD holder.

Mark lines in black across the front from the score line at 1.5cm. The last one will only be 1cm but it won't matter. (I have marked my 1cm score line on the left hand side in black - you don't need to do this just score with your scoring tool).
Place your black 14.5cm x 8cm piece on top and then using foam squares place your 7 keys on.
Put your Music Note together and stick on front. Stick down your red 1cm x 14.5cm strip across the top of the keys. Glue card to side of CD Holder.

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial and it wasn't too confusing. LOL! Any questions please leave a comment or send a message.
