Pop Up Panel Card

Look what I made for my special friend's Special Birthday!!!
Ok...so I was impressed anyway! haha.
(I think she liked it too).

Using Elegant Eggplant and Melon Mambo Cardstock; Gold Foil Card and Gold Glimmer Cardstock.
Detailed Floral Thinlits and Large Numbers.
The Greeting is non-SU but the vine is from the Foxy Friends Stamp Set.
You open the card and see ....

the pop up panel in the centre!
I used Pop of Pink Designer paper and some Botanical Builder framelits for the flowers.
And don't you love the gold doily. These gold and silver doily's are awesome.Metallic Foil Doily's p.175 of the main catalogue

So I watched a Youtube video or two on this pop up panel card and then played with the measurements to suit myself.
Here is one of the ones I watched by Sandra Ronald

You all have a great day...and thanks for stopping by. Vx

Corner pop up Fox

It was my friend's birthday a couple of weeks back and she loves purple. So I thought what better than a purple little fox to pop out and say "happy birthday"!

You just undo the ribbon (Smoky Slate mini stitched ribbon) and the corner piece folds down as you open the card, to give you a little diorama. This is called a Corner Pop Up Card.

Here it is "in action".

and there are my little purple foxes sitting in the garden.

I wanted a bit of a 3D effect so I made a little pop up thingy for my fox I created with my Fox Builder Punch.

Products I used:

Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant. Whisper White, Retired Designer paper.
Colours used: Wisteria Wonder, Mint Macaron, Crumbcake,  Retired Blackberry Bliss.
Punches: Fox Builder Punch, Butterfly Punch
Framelits: Botanical Blooms, circles.
Stamps: Foxy Friends, Pretty Kitty(birthday greeting inside)

This was such a fun card and I had a lot of fun playing with the Foxy Friends and Fox Builder Punch. I think I need to make another one of these Corner Pop Up's really soon.

Thanks for stopping by. Vxx

Here is a photo of me with my friend and fellow demonstrator Carolyn! Carolyn lives in a small town about 2 hours from me. This is one of the side-benefits to being a demonstrator. You get to make friends with people you may never have got to meet, otherwise! Though my husband does reckon that Carolyn and I are practically "related" because it turns out her Father-in-Law and my Uncle were best friends! Talk about a small world!

Flower Pot Botanical Blooms

As soon as I saw Botanical Builder Framelits and matching stamp set Botanical Blooms, I knew I wanted to do a Flower Pot Card with them.
So after much thought and research I decided on an Easel Card design inspired by several I saw on Pinterest including one I had seen on Bronwyn Eastley's Blog.Addinktive Designs.

I have used retired Botanical Garden paper, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Mint Macaron, Old Olive and Always Artichoke cardstock and ink.

Here it is closed and then......                                               open.

The flowerpot is actually a pocket for a greeting card.

so you could write a personal message.

Here is a back view of the message card. I placed this through the bigshot with a circle framelit and only ran it through half way to get the curved top.

I thought you might like a few measurements of the Flower Pot so here you go.
My Easel Card is 14cm x 14cm.
The top is scored in half at 7cm.
I used the template to cut my flower pot shape from the bottom half of my Easel card.

I then cut a flower pot (with the fold) in Cajun Craze and used the new tear and tape around the sides and bottom edge. To create a pocket in the Flower pot to hold my card which is topped with flowers and leaves.
TIP: place your card in the pocket and arrange the flower and leaves and greeting first before gluing them so you can get a good idea of where they will sit around the the flower pot.

Unlike my usual comment that a card was a simple/easy/quick .... I won't be saying that this time!
This card did take a while to work out and get just right. But it is definitely a WOW card! And sometimes you do need a WOW card to give to a special someone.

Here's Rosie checking out the flowers in one of my flower pots.

Hope you have a great day. Thanks for stopping by. Vx

Flourishing Phrases in Sympathy

Hello Happy Stampers!
Have you seen the Emboss Resist Technique using our Fine Glue Tip Pen?
You "colour" in your images with the glue. Let it dry (overnight is best) and then sponge/brayer over your image. This is great for line images.

For my first attempt I thought a simple image like the flourish in Flourishing Phrases would be good.
I stamped the image in black onto a white piece of cardstock. Then I "coloured" in carefully the flowers and leaves with the Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Next day.
Using Night of Navy and Sweet Sugarplum ink pads I sponged the colours over my image to slowly build up my background. Use a piece of paper towel to go over your image and wipe away any excess ink.
I stamped the words in versamark and gold embossing powder. Some Gold Natural Trim Ribbon wrapped around the bottom of the picture and a bow place on top. Also added a couple of Night of Navy Enamel Dots under the words...just because I can't get enough  of enamel dots!!! haha.

Sweet Sugar Plum enamel shapes  and some Gold Wink of Stella were used to add to the flourish image.
I then layered my finished piece onto some Real Red and White Cardstock with Night of Navy as my card base.

The Fine Tip Glue Pen is on page 182 of the Main Catalogue if you are looking for it by the way.

I hope you like this technique and give it a go yourself. It is very easy and incredibly effective.
Thanks for stopping by. Vx

Happy Pink Birthday Blooms

Once again it is that time again... another "Pink" birthday!
So out came the Birthday Blooms Stamp Set (I am so glad this one was carried over to the Main Catalogue!)
Pink Pirouette Cardstock for my base card and layering with Pink Pirouette, Whisper White and Mint Macaron Dsp from Blooms and Bliss.

I started by watercolouring my flowers and leaves with Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette and Mint Macaron for the leaves.
I then added Clear Wink of Stella to the everything and Gold Wink of Stella to the Stamen in the centre of the flower. You can see all the sparkly goodness in the photo above.

To add some special touches I included Blushing Bride butterfly; Gold Doily; Corrugated Card and Blushing Bride Enamel Dots.

The flower image was stamped first then partially cut out with scissors before using a circle die over the image.

Happy Pink Birthday!!!
Hmmm...I am thinking I should make a strawberry cake card after looking at this image. Yum!!
Enjoy!Vx

Wherever you go - go in Dapper Denim!

Hello Happy Stampers
Last week we were away on a little holiday. So I thought it was appropriate to feature this
new stamp set from the Main Catalogue for you to check out.
Wherever you Go p.144 of the Main Catalogue.
It has some great images for travel, inspirational and male cards.

This card was once again a simple one to put together.
Using Dapper Denim Card base and Gold Foil Card and Black Card.
On Whisper White card, I stamped my bridge in black then added the gold heat embossed rays.
I sponged from the bottom in Dapper Denim ink getting lighter as I worked my way up to toward the top.

I actually punched a hole out and placed my stamped words "wherever you go...." behind it.
Happy Birthday is from Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set.
Do you like my gold enamel dots? They are actually the white pearls coloured with a gold Sharpie pen.

Make sure you check this little Stamp Set out. Thanks for stopping by. Vx

And of course I figure you want to see where I went
so here you are.... a few photos from our week away staying in a cottage on a farm retreat near Kenilworth.
view from the verandah of our cottage. So relaxing. And no Internet either!!

A little wallaby. Didn't realise she had a baby joey in her pouch till after I took the photo.

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree.

Sugarplum Flourishing Phrases.

One of my favourite new in colours has to be Sweet Sugarplum!!
I don't usually go for purples but this colour has got me excited! I just love it so much.
So when it came to creating a card for my workshop I just had to use my favourite new colour didn't I?!

Here is the workshop card we did.

Using Flourishing Phrases flower for the centre and stamping it off for the two side flowers.
Mint Macaroon leaves also with some stamped off to create the lighter version.
Some ruched Sweet Sugarplum ribbon and Blooms and Bliss designer paper.
Thoughtful Banners and matching punch for the greeting.
Wink of Stella added some pretty glitter to the card.

I also did a "stepped up" version of the card.
I added a sparkly butterfly using Blushing Bride Glimmer card and a small butterfly stamped on top in Sweet Sugarplum cardstock. Punched out with the Butterfly punches.

A small gold doily and some new gold enamel shapes! Aren't these great!!!

I loved the way the stepped up version turned out with just a few added extras. Don't you?

Have a great day. Vx
