Surprise Explosion card

(Featuring: Explosion Card, Birthday Blooms, Butterfly Basics, Dragonfly Dreams)

I have fallen in love with this technique so beware you will be seeing a few of these cards.
This card front was inspired from one by artysara.blogspot.com. I loved her design and changed it up a bit to make  it my own.

The outside was so pretty I wanted to do something special on the inside too so...
when you open up the inside of the card you get a paper explosion kind of happening.
I had already written in this card so that is why there is an extra slip of whisper white randomly across the the middle there (in case you were wondering :)

Products used:
Cardstock : Sahara Sand, Whisper White, (Pink Pirouette for the butterfly)

Designer paper is a retired piece - 18cm x 18cm. (score 9cm on two sides and diagonally across one direction) I have added contrasting designer paper to the triangle sections.

Stamps: Hardwood (stamped in White Craft Ink)
Butterfly Basics,
Greetings from: Beautiful You, Birthday Blast and Butterfly Basics.

This next surprise explosion card was made using Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalogue.

See that yellow flower? It is actually the Dragonfly wings stamped around in a circle. How cool is that!
I stamped once in So Saffron in the centre of the 9.5cm x 9.5cm Very Vanilla Card.
Then I stamped again on a smaller piece 4cm x 4cm.
Add a piece of plain Very Vanilla 4.2cm x 4.2cm between the two flowers.

The inside designer paper is the Party Animal Dsp Occasions Catalogue.
I added Very Vanilla cardstock to the top and bottom of the card
with stamping from Dragonfly Dreams and Birthday Blooms in Black, So Saffron and Crushed Curry
ink.

...and a bit of a Starblast thinlets sparkly going on at the top of the card because I just love them.

This is such a fun card to make and great for using up your designer paper too.

Thanks for dropping by. Vx

Salebration Inside the Lines

(Featuring: Saleabration Behind the Lines Designer Paper, Dragonfly Dreams, 3D card)

Have you noticed Colouring Books are so on trend at the moment?
Stampin Up definitely have...and have introduced a great Designer Paper package for all of us who love colouring.

The exclusive Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper is a Saleabration product. Which means there is only two weeks left if you would like to get your hands on some. For every AU$90 you spend you can get this paper or other Salebration products for FREE but only until March 31st.

So today I thought I would show you a couple of cards made with this lovely paper.

For this one I brayered over the piece using the Soft Sky Inkpad. Then I added some colour to some of the flowers and leaves using the Watercolour Pencils in Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and Basic Grey.

I cut the paper into 4 different size panels and layered them over black cardstock.

Cardstock used: Daffodil Delight, Basic Grey, Black.
Other product: Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set for greeting and Dragonfly Detailed Thinlets for Gold Foil Card Dragonfly.
I wanted to show you the closeup of the Lace Doily (p.51 Occasions Catalogue). It is sooooo sparkly! I used my Gold Wink of Stella pen to colour it.

So you might think..."I am not into colouring".. and that is fine too, as this paper is perfect as a black and white background piece.
Here is a card I made just with the designer paper and Black Cardstock. Very simple and still looks good.

But what could be even better??? A little pack of colouring pencils attached to the card for those who do like to colour.
I made a simple little open lidded box to hold these three pencils, red, blue and yellow and attached it to the bottom of the card.

The box is 9cm x 11cm. It is scored at 1cm, 4cm, 5cm, 8cm. and then 1cm for the bottom of the box.  I cut a semi circle at the front to see the pencils. But of course the measurements really depend on the size of your colouring pencils.

By wrapping a piece of the designer paper around the box it holds the pencils in place.

and when you open the inside of the card.

and here is a buzzy bee photo I took last week out at the farm.  Flowers and bees go together.

Have a happy day. Thanks for dropping by. Vx

Hey Chicks!

(featuring - Hey Chick stamp set. Saleabration)

Hey Chicks...
Did you know there is only a few weeks left of Saleabration?
This Hey Chick Stamp Set is just one of a selection of products you can order free with every AU$90- purchase. Finishes March 31st.

I just love this stamp set. It really tickles my funny bone and I had to make one for my friend's birthday. Because she is "a good egg".
Her favourite colour is green so I looked out some Party Animal designer series paper from the Occasions Catalogue and off I went.
Colours used: Emerald Envy, Mint Macaron, Crushed Curry.

Party On stamp and inside card stamps are from the Balloon Adventures Stamp Set and I just had to place a party hat on the chicken (from a retired stamp set).
The ground is made with Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set in Basic Grey and I have watercoloured the chicken, egg and ground with our new Watercolour pencils p.24 of the Occasions Catalogue.
This card just makes me smile.
And what more can you want than a smile to brighten your day?

Hope this brightens your day too.
And a photo from a previous holiday. The strange sights in a wildlife nature reserve. haha.

Thanks for dropping by. Vx

Beautiful You and Lift Me Up

(Featuring Beautiful You Stamp set and Lift Me Up Stamp Set)

Well hello,
I am back from a lovely week away at the beach and ready to show some cards made at my last workshop.

The first card (Tip Top Taupe card base) features the Beautiful You stamp set. I love the fact that there is a stamp to colour her dress. So easy! I used Blushing Bride ink.
I used our new watercolour pencils to colour her hat.
For a bit of a twist on a greeting I decided to stamp the Happy Birthday Gorgeous diagonally across half of my background Sahara Sand piece in Soft Suede ink.
Some pretty Falling in Love Designer paper and one of our lovely new doilys all from the Occasions Catalogue p.51.
The lady is stamped on Very Vanilla Cardstock and cut out with one of the new Stitched Shapes Framelits.
Ribbon is from Salebration.

Inside a birthday sentiment from Balloon Adventures p.5

The other card we made was using the Lift Me Up Stamp Set and Up and Away Framelits with matching designer paper from Saleabration.

Night of Navy Card base
Ink- Night of Navy, Real Red, Smoky Slate

Inside another greeting from Balloon Adventures ( I love the greetings in that set, can you tell? LOL.)

and because you want to see some pics from my holiday (maybe?) in beautiful Hervey Bay.
The resort we stayed at.

The beach across the road from the resort. Actually most of them look like this.

The pier in the background of the next photo is a kilometre long and celebrates it's 100 year anniversary this year 2017. And yes, we did walk it. Saw plenty of people catching fish from it too. Wish I had brought my hand line, I like a bit of fishing.

Now back to card making till the next holiday.
Have a good week. Thanks for stopping by. Vx
