Toot Toot it's another birthday!

I enjoyed my adventure last week in Watercooler Wednesday Challenge Land...and when I saw it was "Anything Goes" I knew I couldn't resist playing again.

WWC35 -- Marsha's "Anything Goes" Challenge Welcome to our new challenge.  This week we feature Marsha's "anything goes" challenge.  What does that mean?    Simply put, it is whatever you want it to be.
Another birthday boy's card... And who better to put on a 2 year old's birthday card.... than that famous Blue Tank Engine....Thomas!
!  Isn't he lovely!!! I went to Pinterest for my ideas. This Thomas is a combination of about 6 different Punch Art cards LOL! then with some of my own ideas added in - he became my very own hybrid version!
So what did I use... Circle punches from 2 inch, 1 3/4", 1/2" and the owl builder punch
Circle from the Circle thinlits and 2/12" circle punch for larger circles.

Smile for the Camera!

Image
I was so happy with this card I made for my youngest son's birthday. He loves filming and cameras. So when I saw this design on Pinterest using the Envelope Punch Board I just had to make one for him.
Super Easy card but so effective!
I did use some retired Stampin Up: Lattice Embossing Folder,Ticket Punch, Sketched Birthday Stamps, Black Ribbon.
But all of this would be easy to substitute with something else.

Couldn't resist using one of our new Enamel red dots from the Holiday Catalogue, on the word window punch with a small rectangle of silver metallic card stock.

Well it isn't actually my son's birthday for a few days yet, but as he never reads my blog I think I am pretty safe to show it early to you all. hehe.

I have another cute card to show you next time....but for a much younger male. Thanks as always for stopping by. Vx

Punch the Man!

Kerpow!
Yes today I am talking Cards for Men. And what I often turn to, to make them.
Punches and Punch Art!
So many possibilities and so easy to do.
September is Man Month in this house with Fathers Day, Husband Birthday, Son's Birthday and several Nephew's Birthdays.

So armed with my trusty Pinterest ideas (always great for inspiration!) Here are some of the cards I have made.

Fathers Day - couldn't go past a BBQ card - seeing as he was getting some new Weber BBQ tools for Fathers Day gifts.

I used up some old dsp for the background.

Then a Yoda Card for his birthday. Anja Beckmann shared a card like this one and I loved it so I just had to re-create one myself.

Do you like the witty greeting. Held a round table conference with the family to come up with this one. hehe.
I think the chunky silver glitter really makes it!

Sadly was informed after I had made the card that Yoda doesn't have a blue light saber. sigh. Oh well.

My 14 year old nephew was a little difficult …

Ombre Blue Dreams - Watercooler Wednesday Challenge no. 34

Image
Well here is a random "off the cuff" post! I was visiting a site last night and saw a Weekly Challenge that I couldn't go past.
I haven't done any challenges for a long time but I have to admit I have a soft spot for a lovely Stampin Up Demonstrator called Jean. And this was her challenge. I felt I just had to join in. Click on the link below to take you to it. You have a couple of days left before the challenge ends.

 Jean's Challenge.
Welcome to our new challenge.  This week we feature Jean's Colour Challenge---with a twist.  What does that mean?  Jean has put together a challenge within a challenge.  For this challenge, you get to pick your colour (that's right, I said colour---singular) and then use it in an Ombre Effect.

I immediately had visions of the colour Blue. I pulled out Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Pacific Point and Night of Navy ink refils. Placed drops of these  in lines across several folded baby wip…

happy 60th anniversary

Image
Mum called me the other day and said it was her sister and brother-in-laws 60th Wedding Anniversary in two days time....and if I had the time could I just whip up a card for her and post it to them! haha. Yes...well...of course...what else could I say...60 years marriage deserves some priority.

I remembered my Aunty Una's favourite colour was blue so I went with blue and silver for the card.
Pretty short on Anniversary images I pulled out one of the 25 year special sets from last year.

And this is what I "whipped up"! Sorry the photo is a little dark.

Used some silver metallic cardstock embossed with the Lacey Embossing folder and some dazzling diamonds Glimmer cardstock.

Added diamantes and the number Sixty to acknowledge the special Anniversary.
(60th Wedding Anniversary is Diamonds by the way.)

I had some none SU words for inside.

And a few photos from our walk down the bush the other day. These tree ferns are really big. Much bigger than they grow in my yard anywa…

Trendy Bendi

Image
Have you seen the Bendi Cards? They seem to be everywhere at the moment. A little like when the Card in the Box idea took off.
So of course I had to make one.
This one I found measurements for on Pinterest. There are heaps there or you can check out Youtube for a video tutorial.

I made this for a special friend and class lady using the Pretty Petals Paper Stack (just love that paper!).
And a line up of the "usual suspects" in my fancy folds cards -Flowershop and Petite Petals and Butterfly Thinlits.

These are the two flaps open
You tuck the first side in.
Then the other side in. Here is a top view. I even raised the centre of the greeting up with dimensionals for a curved look.
Flowers and butterflies in Old Olive, Pacific Point and Calypso Coral, to match my Pretty Petals Designer Paper.

Now look what I found...or should I say...Rosie found...in the garden next to the garden shed.
What you can't see anything but a plant????

Take a closer look. A Blue Tongue Lizard tr…
