Yellow and Green = Spring.
Well it certainly isn't Spring in this part of the world but elsewhere it must be. March is actually the beginning of Autumn for us and there is a cool change in the night air.
Over at simplylessismore the challenge this week is to make a Spring card using the colours Yellow and Green.
Making a card with lots of white space is definitely a challenge for me but I was excited about using the colours yellow and green together. I have found the colour yellow to be one that I am drawn to. I don't know why - every week or so, I buy myself some yellow chrysanthemums for the kitchen table. Yellow is my "happy" colour.
Come and see how I did.
While the card is Daffodil Yellow I have stamped the butterfly and flower in So Saffron to add depth.
Products:
Cardstock: Daffodil Yellow, Pistachio Pudding, So Saffron, White
Ink: So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding, Gumball Green.
Stamps: Betsy's Blossoms, Flower shop, Papillion Potpourri, Gifts of Kindness(greeting)
Punches: Pansy Punch, Butterfly Punch
Secret Garden framelits for leaf.
The butterfly is layered with so saffron underneath and I made a little butterfly flight path with some tiny pearls.
Do you like the leafy bushes? They are the big flower stamp from Betsy's Blossoms!
I rounded the corners of three of the cards edges with my Envelope Punch Board, so easy!,
and used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch for a scalloped edge under the greeting.
This card is off to someone who has a big heart and does random acts of kindness for others.
"There is no gift so fine as the conscious act of grace and kindness".
Isn't that a lovely verse and perfect for this card's recipient.
Have you ever looked at this set? Gifts of Kindness p.83 of the main catalogue. It has a good set of greetings and verses, that I particularly like because they can fit inside punches. Plus I nice simple flower stamp.
Make sure you check it out.
Thanks for stopping by, and if you like green and yellow too, perhaps have a go at the challenge.
See you next time. Vx
