Challenge in Purple.
Dynamic duos have an interesting colour combination this week.
I didn't have Pale Plum but substituted with Wisteria Wonder. This was definitely a challenge for me as I am not usually much good with "purple tones". This is what I came up with.
I had fun with collage stamping on this card.
I used stamps from Clockworks in (Rich Razzleberry and Soft Sky),
Gorgeous Grunge ink spots in(Soft Sky) and
Hardwood Background in (Wisteria Wonder). I only inked the bottom of the stamp and stamped at the bottom of card and then top of card. I also *"stamped off" to get a paler version of the colour.
*Stamping off is when you ink the stamp and then stamp onto a sheet of scrap paper first then immediately stamp onto the card stock.
On the burlap ribbon, which I frayed on the edges, I have used flowers from
Petite Petals Stamp and punch (Rich Razzleberry)
Secret Garden Stamp and framelit (Soft Sky)
Leaf from Secret Garden framelit (Rich Razzleberry)
Thinking of you from Wetlands is punched with the Large Oval punch and I have the Scalloped Oval punch in Wisteria Wonder behind it.
Also added a double butterfly with Large and Small butterfly punch. Stamp from Papillion Potpourri.
Lots of lovely pearls to finish the flowers and butterfly off and we are done!
I know exactly who is getting this card too. A favourite "purple" person. hehe.
As you may know I have had a "crush" on Crushed Curry this week.
Soooooo.... I just had to make this card again.
This time in Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana.
Come and have a look.
I used the same stamps and layout with these colours.
Flowers: Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay - I did add some dazzling diamonds on to the petals.
Butterfly: Bermuda Bay
Leaf: Bermuda Bay
I don't know which one I like the best? What do you think?
Here is the Dynamic Duo one again just as a reminder. You only have a little while left if you want to join in.
Thanks for stopping by. Drop back tomorrow and I will show you something that is "out of this world". hehe.

Beautiful cards. Love your collaged background and pretty flowers across the burlap ribbon. Thanks for joining us at the Dynamic Duos this week.
ReplyDeleteLove bith versions! The Woodgrain background looks great with the flowers and love the double butterfly :-) Thanks for playing along with us at the Dynamic Duos!
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely! I love the rustic feel of the burlap and Hardwood stamp together. Thanks for joining us at Dynamic Duos!
ReplyDeleteLove joining in. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteOh my, Vicki, don't they look different when you use different colours? It reminds me of quilting - change the fabrics and get a completely different look with the same pattern! The yellow really jumps out at me, but maybe I am liking yellow as a colour more than purple these days? No matter - they are both great cards!
