Clean and Simple? A Paper Players Challenge

Today I wanted to make a Friendship Friday Card to send and decided to play along with the Paper Players Challenge as well.

This week it was to use the colours Bravo Burgundy, Night of Navy, Cajun Craze and Vanilla. Come and have a look on the table at what I made.

I must say this looks nothing like my original. I started out with the Everything Eleanor Stamp Set p.112 of the main catalogue and the idea that the colours lent themselves to a vintage style card.
My first attempt had about 7 layers and 8 flowers all jammed on there! hehe! It was terrible. It didn't look like a work of art but more like a huge mess. Oh dear!
So I just tipped them all off and started again. Adding just the bare essentials to create a Clean and Simple Card instead.Something I find challenging. I always want to add "just one more thing"! Do you have this problem too? If so you will understand.

This time I only went with the 3 flowers all cut out and layered with dimensionals around the words.
I added a row of pearls under the words for added visual interest and to help add to my vintage tone of the card.
Do you think I have achieved a Clean and Simple Card?

I love to read your comments. Please feel free to leave one if you liked this card or have any questions.

  5. Vicki, the three flowers were the perfect number. it really lets you see and focus on each one. With the elements you have used your eye travels naturally from left to right and then is allow to rest on the sentiment. Thank you for joining the Paper Players this week and sharing this lovely card.
