Give me a home among the Gum Trees.

A sheep or two and a kangaroo...

G'day Mate! yes I am waving the Aussie Flag today. Why? Because I have made a cute Koala Card that I just can't wait to show you!

I found the cute idea for the punch art koalas on Pinterest. It was from a clever Stampin Up Demonstrator Pat Carr.
Unfortunately I don't think Pat has a blog so I can't link to her.

Let me de-construct the card for you.
The base card in Brown Sugar with the Hardwood Background Stamp in Early Expresso ink.
I used the On Film Framelits for the frame in Early Expresso Cardstock.
The designer paper in the middle is from All Abloom. (isn't it just perfect!)

The word "hey there" is from Just Sayin Stamp Set and I used the Word Bubble Framelits to cut it out.
I used Smoky Slate for the Koalas and inked the edges with Basic Grey. I also added some Dazzling Diamonds to the white parts of the Koala ears.

I used a one inch circle punch for the head of the baby koala. Boho Blossom Punch for its ears. The white circles are from the Owl Builder Punch.
The nose is the word window punch cut down and I drew the facial features with a Stampin Write Marker.
The paws are from the Owl Builder Punch and the claws are two little black hearts from the Owl Builder Punch as well.

For the large Koala I used the 1 3/4" circle punch on the head with the 7/8 scallop punch for the ears. 1/2 inch circle for the white part of the ears.
Word Window punch cut down for the nose.
The paws are the smallest circle in the Circle Framelits Set.
Black claws are from the Boho Blossom Punch.

The leaves are made use the retired Secret Garden Framelit in Pistachio Pudding and sponged with Wild Wasabi.
Smaller leaves are in Wild Wasabi card stock from the Bird Builder Punch and flowers are from the retired Itty Bitty Punch Set in Daffodil Delight.

They really turned out so well and I hope the recipient likes them too.
This card is off to America and I think Americans like Koalas (or that is what I am hoping!)
So I hope this brings a smile to her face, it certainly does for me.

  3. Vicki...it's even more amazing in person. An original of this (thank you my dear friend) is now on my desk in Oregon! I can't begin to tell you what a joy finding this card and the accompanying package of goodies in my mail box brought. I'm looking forward to CASE'ing this little darling (the Santa version too).
    So does this mean I'm an honorary Australian now...with my very own Koala? {grin}
Thank you for sharing the sunshine. Hugs and love - J.
