Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

I was in luck this week with the Paperplayers "Clean and Simple, Stars" Challenge

and the papercraftcrew Sketch Challenge

I knew I could combine the two for my baby card.
Whenever I make a baby card for someone it usually looks a lot like this anyway.
In either soft sky or pink pirouette depending on the new arrival.
The greeting Twinkle twinkle, little star - darling baby here you are!
Is just perfect with a sprinkling of colour matched stars. It is an old retired SU stamp and I think I use it on every baby card I make. LOL! I stamped in Marina Mist and hand cut the wavy banner.

Whisper white card stock is embossed with the Perfectly Polka Dots Emboss Folder.
Punched a large star with the retired SU Star Punch. The smaller one in the middle is the retired SU small star punch.
Of course I used the SU Simply Stars Stamp Set in the main catalogue for the polka dot stars.

The tiny stars are cut out using the small star from  the Scentsational Framelit set that was in the Holiday Catalogue a few years back. I stamped the Simply Stars Polka Dot Star onto whisper white and then placed the framelit over it to cut out. Thus getting a smaller version of my polka dot star to work with.
And the little striped banners are from the Perfectly Pennants Stamp Set in the New All Occasions Catalogue.

Here is my Clean and Simple card all finished.

Colours used:
Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Whisper White and Silver Glimmer card stock.

The Simply Stars Stamp Set on page 124 of the main catalogue is such an overlooked set I think.
Great value - did you know you can purchase this set for AUS $18.95 clear or AUS$22.95 wood.

It is what I call a Pantry Stamp. A staple you should keep on hand. It can be used on its own, as a background or as a compliment to other stamps.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by. I am hoping for rain today it has been so hot. Fans are going flat out. The sky is grey but no sign of rain yet. sigh.

There is still time if you want to join in the Challenges just pop on over. The more the merrier!

  3. Oh, what an utterly sweet card! It is really a lovely card to give to new parents :) I love stars too and you are right, I was one of the ones who had overlooked that cute little stamp set. Till now. Lol! Thank you for visiting my blog. The Spiral Rose Die is hard to put down, I find. There are so many ways to use it.
