Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

I was in luck this week with the Paperplayers "Clean and Simple, Stars" Challenge

and the papercraftcrew Sketch Challenge

I knew I could combine the two for my baby card.
Whenever I make a baby card for someone it usually looks a lot like this anyway.
In either soft sky or pink pirouette depending on the new arrival.
The greeting Twinkle twinkle, little star - darling baby here you are!
Is just perfect with a sprinkling of colour matched stars. It is an old retired SU stamp and I think I use it on every baby card I make. LOL! I stamped in Marina Mist and hand cut the wavy banner.

Whisper white card stock is embossed with the Perfectly Polka Dots Emboss Folder.
Punched a large star with the retired SU Star Punch. The smaller one in the middle is the retired SU small star punch.
Of course I used the SU Simply Stars Stamp Set in the main catalogue for the polka dot stars.

The tiny stars are cut out using the small star from  the Scentsational Framelit set that was in the Holiday Catalogue a few years back. I stamped the Simply Stars Polka Dot Star onto whisper white and then placed the framelit over it to cut out. Thus getting a smaller version of my polka dot star to work with.
And the little striped banners are from the Perfectly Pennants Stamp Set in the New All Occasions Catalogue.

Here is my Clean and Simple card all finished.

Colours used:
Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Whisper White and Silver Glimmer card stock.

The Simply Stars Stamp Set on page 124 of the main catalogue is such an overlooked set I think.
Great value - did you know you can purchase this set for AUS $18.95 clear or AUS$22.95 wood.

It is what I call a Pantry Stamp. A staple you should keep on hand. It can be used on its own, as a background or as a compliment to other stamps.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by. I am hoping for rain today it has been so hot. Fans are going flat out. The sky is grey but no sign of rain yet. sigh.

There is still time if you want to join in the Challenges just pop on over. The more the merrier!

  2. I just love stars for a baby card, and how twinkly this looks with that glimmer paper! Thanks for playing with my starry challenge this week!

Till now. Lol! Thank you for visiting my blog. The Spiral Rose Die is hard to put down, I find. There are so many ways to use it.

Bird Ballad Double Point Card

Featuring: Free as a Bird Stamp Set, Bird Ballad designer paper, Stitched Nested Label dies, Double Point Card, Special Fold, Stampin Up

Happy Wednesday Wonders,

Have you ever seen a Double Point Card before? I hadn't until I saw one from Jackie Bultje. I loved the idea of using up and showing off some of gorgeous designer paper so away I went.
Used the Bird Ballad Suite for my card.

I stamped the birds and did just a little watercolouring with  our water colour pencils and aquapainter.
The little flowers on the end of the branch are cut from the designer paper.

Greetings are from Butterfly Wishes Stamp set.
In the photo below you can see the two points of the designer paper (hence the name Double Point Card).
This flap lifts up to reveal another message underneath. Surprise!

But wait -
There is More!!
Yes lift up the card and see the greeting inside and where you can also write your own message.

 Ta Da!!

Base Card: Crumbcake
Layers: Early Expresso and Soft Suede.
Pretty Peacock circle layer.

 With a few extras.
dies and stamps from Timeless Tropical Bundle.
Stamped the flower in the new Staz On Saddle brown and coloured with SU watercolour pencils.
Aloha is in Terracotta Tile.
And of course.. the stunning Coastal Weave 3D embossing folder that I used some Early Expresso ink  on before placing my Soft Suede cardstock into the folder and embossing.
It just gives extra depth and contrast to the gorgeous weave pattern, don't you think?

Thank you for stopping by. See you next week. Vx

Royal Ascot Daisy Lane

Featuring: Daisy Lane stamp set, Daisy punch, Medium Daisy Punch, Stampin Up

Happy Wednesday Wonders.

Did you happen to see the Queen at Royal Ascot in her Powder Blue outfit?
I loved it and her hat.
She always looks amazing.

I loved the colour so much and thought it reminded me of our new Seaside Spray In Colour.
I tried to use colours in her hat so I went with Gorgeous Grape and Blueberry Bushel and Mossy Meadow.

I heat embossed in white the fern from the Daisy Lane stamp set for a background.
Then layered the daisies and leaves.
(Leaves are from the Leaf Punch and the Magnolia die set. I sponged them with Mossy Meadow ink for some depth).

I added some pretty white spot tulle ribbon and Noble Peacock rhinestones.

So what do you think?
Do you ever look at something and think it reminds you of Stampin Up colours or designs?
Or is that just me? haha.
Either way this was a lot of fun to put together.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by. Vx
