Mosaic musings and how to keep a straight line.

Do you ever see something in the catalogue and think immediately - Wow I must have that!! Then you get it home and it sits there and sits there and never sees the light of day????

Well that is my Mosaic Madness Stamp Set and Punch (and the embossing folder!).
I saw it and just had to have it! Then there it sat and sat and sat.

You see I realise now I am not really a "geometric" "shapes" kinda girl. So as much as I love seeing cards made with them I really don't know what to do with them myself.
So I have made a point this week to pull out this poor under used set and use it!

With the Paperplayers Colour Challenge this week.

Are you ever inspired by colors, patterns and textures you see while shopping?  I sure am and I fell in love with this display while having a great shopping day with my Mom and daughter.  :-) I couldn't wait to bring this inspiration to you!  You're not limited by the colors either, look at the stripes in the jewelry, the hardware, the shapes--whatever makes your heart sing!

So I looked at these colours and shapes in the picture and I thought of the links in the background stamps in the Mosaic Madness Set. I combined the suggested colours with some Calypso Coral as well to add a bit more depth to the card.
Come and see how I went.

See how straight those lines of back ground are?
Want to know how I did it??
Well....

Clear Mount Perfectly Placed Guides. Place on blocks to perfectly align stamp images Repositionable, variety of guide lines.
There are two sheets with all different shapes and sizes in the pack and they are only $9.95 Aus.
Check it out on p.197 of the main catalogue.

Here is one attached to my stamp. It is vinyl so just peels straight off again.

There I stuck it back on the sheet to prove it. Now isn't that a good idea or what?!!! Love it!

Yes that is right Clear Mount Perfectly Placed Guides - You Make Me Happy!!! haha.

If you have trouble keeping a straight line straight maybe you could consider adding them to your next order? Don't forget Saleabration is in full swing at the moment and every $90Aus spent earns you a free product from the Saleabration brochure.

Thanks for dropping by. Hope you come back again soon. Vx

p.s. I have just viewed this online and the writing is sometimes big and sometimes small. If anyone knows what I am doing wrong please let me know as in the Blogger original post (where I edit) it all looks the same size?)

  3. Great card, Vicki! I love how you used the long patterned to stamps to "dangle" your mosaic from. Very cool and great use of the challenge colors. Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at The Paper Players!
