A touch of Blue.

How was your weekend? We had quite a bit of rain here. (because I had plans to work in the garden of course!) lol.
But that is not why I am feeling Blue today.
Oh No! This is good Blue...a happy Blue...a Tranquil Blue...I could go on till I am Blue in the face! about the lovely Stampin Up Tempting Turquoise Blue but instead I will show you some cards.

I was inspired by Less is More to Add a Touch of Turquoise to my cards.
And once you get started well it is hard to stop! So I have two to show you today.
Keep in mind that I am still working on the "Less is More" or CAS (Clean and Simple) approach.

Here is the first one I made.
I am not sure if a black card is CAS but I really liked it in black.
I wanted to use my Sweets for the Sweet Stamp which I haven't used in ages. I really like the little pinwheels in this set.

I had fun with my Banners Framelits set from the All Occasions Catalogue. I cut a banner from the black card stock to make a window.
Then a slightly larger Turquoise Frame using two banner framelits larger than my original window banner.

I stamped the black pinwheel handle directly on the white card stock using my stampamajig to line it up straight. Then stamped a black and a Turquoise pinwheel on extra white card and cut them out to layer together.
I made two little banners using a scrap of Modern Medley dsp and some whisper white with a greeting from the Sweets for the Sweet stamp set.

After I had finished that card I had some banner scraps lying around and didn't want them to go to waste so I came up with this card which I really like too.
This one while looking like it still has lots of "white space" has quite a few layers, so I thought I would enter this one into Just Add Ink which is "Layers" Challenge today.

In this card I made two banner frames using Tempting Turquoise and Modern Medley dsp.
I stamped a hexagon with the Six-sided Sampler Stamp Set in Tempting Turquoise and added the greeting from the stamp set straight on top with black ink.

For a little interest I added flowers from the Happy Watercolour Stamp Set in the All Occasions Catalogue. I stamped the flowers in black ink and clear embossed them. Then I used my blender pen directly on the ink pad and coloured the flowers. This is rather a long stem of flowers and I just cut off the top ones for use.

So there you go. Two "blue" cards today. (and another one still on the craft table to come! Yep. I'm not quite over Tempting Turquoise just at the moment.)
If you want to make a CAS card with a touch of Turquoise why not pop over the Less Is More and join in the fun or a card with layers the Just Add Ink is for you!

In the meantime: On the weekend.
Our son wanted to buy his girlfriend some special flowers for her 18th birthday but was in a dilemma with the cost of flowers from the Florist and the fact he was at work the entire day and couldn't get out to get any himself.
His dad came up with an idea. Why not buy a heap of flowers from Woolworths and let us put together a bunch for her. So with instructions on her favourite flowers:- Sunflowers and her favourite colours:- Yellow and Orange we set out and came home with this.

Which we put together like this.

Sunflowers, Gerbras, Carnations, Roses and Tulips plus greenery.

And of course I had to add a few of my own finishing touches.
Stampin Up Burlap Ribbon. Heart punches in crumb cake with linen string.
And a nice little gift card to match.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you can come back soon as I want to show you the other card I am working on. See you then. Vx
