Beautiful backgrounds.

Catalogue Stamp Sets- Serene Silhouettes p.64 and Wetlands Stamp Sets p.69,  lend themselves to beautiful backgrounds.
In class we had some fun with these sets and the Bouncing Brayer Technique shown by Paula Dobson at Convention this year.

Basically you ink your brayer up well with the chosen colour. I like to roll it once onto a sheet of scrap paper to get some of the excess ink off. Then bounce your brayer lightly down / or up the piece of cardstock to create lots of lines.
With this card I bounced the brayer down the cardstock first with pumpkin pie. Then I did the bouncing brayer again in Primrose Petals. The bottom section was brayered in Crushed Curry.

Here is the Wetlands card we made.
This one is brayered first with So Saffron at the bottom. Then bounce your brayer from the top down using Pool Party.  Birds are stamped in Bermuda Bay. Background cardstock is Sahara Sand, Coastal Cabana and whisper white.

This next background is one I saw by Vicky Hayes a demonstrator in the UK., using an acrylic block.
Ink your acrylic block first in So Saffron. Lightly spray with water. Stamp on cardstock.
Clean acrylic block. Ink with Pool Party. Lightly spray with water (I just give one spray). Stamp on cardstock.
All done! That is a nice easy background to try. Why not give it a go too.
Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to drop in again next week.
Until then. Happy Stamping. Vx
