Bye Bye Butterfly

Featuring: Butterfly Thinlets, Bold Butterfly Framelits, Salebration dsp 2018, Special technique

Here is a card that was a big hit at a recent card class.
Simple and fun but really effective.
We brayered the Lemon Lime Twist ink onto the specialty gloss dsp and coloured some of the leaves with a Blushing Bride Marker.
A little blast from the Heat Gun helped the ink to dry quickly. (it doesn't take long if you want to wait).

Sadly, this gorgeous butterfly, made from two sets (the Bold Butterfly and the Butterfly Thinlets)
is retiring soon.
I do love a nice butterfly, don't you?

This easy technique reminds me of a button hole?
Don't you think it should be called that? The button holeTechnique? hehe.

The one important tip is to make sure you have a really strong adhesive holding your element that is going to be going through the hole in the card.
I found our Stampin Up adhesive Tear n tape the best for this.

And bonus!
This photo is a little dark but the card is really pretty.
Just using up the retired Saleabration Springtime foil designer paper. I coloured and hand cut the flower.
The card is a Centre Step Fold card. I haven't made one of these for ages. Think I might have to make a few more.
