Gold Bauble WWC#40

Greetings Happy Stampers!
I was checking out this weeks challenge at - Watercoolerchallenges.blogspot (click on link).
It is "ANYTHING GOES with HOLLY"

I had a quick look at my Christmas Cards I had just done in class and was happy to spy some holly on this pretty gold card.

Come and have a look.

Just in case you need a closer look at all that glittery gold goodness here you go. hehe.

I just loved this card. It has the two "E's".
EASY and ELEGANT!
And would you believe it all started with some leftovers on my table!
I used two circles cut with the circle framelits. One in Gold Glimmer card and the other in Gold Foil.
I then cut them both in half.
I embossed 1 piece of the foil with Boughs and Berries Embossing Folder (hence the Holly part of my card).
I stuck these two halves onto a white 2 1/2 inch circle cut with circle punch.
The top of the bauble is the small ticket from the retired Ticket Punch but you could use shape for this or just hand cut a piece.
The gorgeous 1/8" gold ribbon was used as trim. Backing dsp is from Winter Wonderland.
Silent Night is from the Stamp set Wonderland.
Black, whisper white finishes it all off.

And there you go Holly with a "Touch of Class"! haha. I loved it and so did the ladies in class.
Actually I am totally in love with the Winter Wonderland Designer Paper and matching Wonderland stamp set! I am planning a whole "Easy and Elegant" card set around it for our next get-together I love it that much!

Anyway if you get a moment be sure to go over and check out the Watercooler Challenges, and join in if you have time.

Thanks for stopping by. Vx

Just wanted to share this photo I took yesterday morning.
We have a gum tree in the back yard and the lorikeets were busy making a lot of noise while they were eating from the blossoms.
I had my zoom lens on the camera and was trying to get a close up of this little guy who was a fair way up in the tree.
When I looked back at the photos on the screen I just had to laugh. He is staring straight back at me obviously wondering what on earth I am doing.
Either that, or it was the purple dressing gown and fluffy blue slippers that had caught his attention. hahaha.

  2. Hi Vicki, I see the holly! Beautiful card and so elegant with its combination of embossed gold foil and gold glimmer paper. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday challenge this week.

BTW I love that Lorikeet. I've never heard of that type of bird before. What a joy to see those in your back yard. Here we're supposed to be getting some mixed snow and rain. I think I'm jealous.

  3. With the colors the Lorikeet is sporting I'm not sure he should be considering fashion advice. Of course...maybe he thought he had found his soulmate? Either way...it's a very fun picture. I don't think I've ever heard of a Lorikeet but it is lovely to see a tropical scene when it's cold and gray and wet here in Oregon. Yes...that's a bit of weather envy going on. :D
Very cool trick with the ornament. Love the way you snuck the holly in for Heidi's holly challenge. Some of us do enjoy making her life interesting (as in having to look for the holly. lol). I did that myself.
Thanks for sharing all the details and playing along with the Challenge this week. Can't wait to try a CASE.
