Snowflake quilting

Hello again Happy Stampers.
I have been having another play with the quilting technique.
I think the technique is a Japanese quilt fold? But I'm not too sure having not found too many examples of it.
You can find my first card here .
This time I decided to make a Snowflake shape with my little squares. Using the new Winter Frost Specialty Designer Paper.
Once again I used a 1 1/4 inch circle punch and placed 2cm squares inside. Folding up all the corners to give this effect. This time I did decide to use slightly smaller circles and squares for the bermuda blue ones. I used 1 inch circle punch for these four and 1 1/2 cm squares.
I also used a 2 1/2 inch circle punch to cut out a piece of silver glimmer card to put behind it. A silver glimmer brad in the centre and lots of sparkly diamantes to finish it off.
I didn't want my sentiment to take away from the snowflake, so stamped in Bermuda Bay in the bottom corner of the card.
I love how this snowflake turned out don't you?

Labour Day
It has been super hot here the last few days including today, with temperatures up to 35 degrees.
We decided we would like to go for a very late afternoon walk back down at Wynnum/Manly and a Fish and Chip Dinner afterwards.
Would you like to come too???
It is already very windy down here again. But the cooling breeze is very welcome from the hot humid weather.
The tide is quite a way out too.
A quick detour along the jetty to see the windsurfer.
That is sooo cool!
These silver little fish are the only ones you are going to see today I think. They are scattered all the way along the jetty.
Keep walking we have to get to the end you know.
6pm and the lights are coming on. Must be time for dinner!
Pelican's Nest looks good to me. How about you?
Fish and chips. Calamari and Greek Salad. Mmmmm. Dig in!

Hope you had a great day and thank you for visiting.
Love hearing from you. Come again soon. Vx

  3. Didn't your snowflake idea turn out nice? It looks really pretty from here, VIcki :) I loved the pics of your Wynnum/Manly Walk too. It sure was hot in Caboolture that day - they said we had 37C. Ugh!
    Take care :)
